TAPROOM SUPERVISOR – 20-30 HOURS PER WEEK (MAINLY EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS), PERMANENT ROLE

Start date: Immediate

The Role:

Our busy Taproom at Arch 548 Brixton Station Road has a team of great people behind the bar, and generally attracts a casual and friendly crowd. We’re looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic and responsible person to join us serving up beers and other drinks, and taking on a supervisory role alongside the Taproom Manager.

Key Duties:

- Serving customers at our bar and helping at taproom events
- Helping people get to know our beers and being a public face of Brixton Brewery
- Assisting our Taproom Manager in all duties as required, including holiday cover, filling in when necessary, and being able to open and close the Taproom at the beginning and end of shifts
- Other related duties as sometimes required

Essential Skills & Qualifications

 - Flexibility in working hours, and willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Dedication to top quality customer service, with an eye for detail
- Great communication skills, including experience dealing with more challenging customers in a hospitality setting
- Hospitality industry experience, preferably as a supervisor
- Legal right to work in the UK

Great to Have

- First aid training/ certification
- An interest in craft beer or local knowledge of Brixton

The role:

We are looking for someone to join our Production team in the role of Packaging Operator. The roles responsibilities include running and maintaining our rotary canning line and keg filler and ensuring accurate labelling of finished products. This is an important role that requires meticulous attention to CCP’s and other food and product safety procedures at this critical point in our production. You will also be assisting the production team across the brewing process.

Essential skills & qualifications:

At least 1-2 years’ experience running a canning line and kegging line.
Fit and able to lift 50kg or more.
Able to work effectively in a team.
The ability to work independently and to deadlines.
Ability to work on repetitive tasks.
Legal right to work in the UK.

Great to have:

Experience with Brewman management software.
IBD General Certificate in Brewing or Packaging or equivalent.
HACCP qualifications.
Forklift license.

Key tasks:

Running our canning line & bottling line.
Keeping to production schedules whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
Overseeing our kegging line
Keeping to production schedules whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
Effective CIP of equipment.
Ensuring the quality and integrity of the beer during packaging
Following all CCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
Maintenance of the canning and kegging lines to avoid down time and inefficient running.
Preparation and oversight of labelling.
Communication with the warehouse team to ensure accuracy.
Assisting the brewing team on wider brewing tasks.
Any other duties to assist in the smooth running of the brewery,
including assisting the brewers and operations staff, maintenance & DIY, event work.

The Role:

This is an exciting, challenging role to help us in the latest
phase of our establishment as one of London’s best-known craft breweries. Brixton Brewery has been wholly owned by Heineken since February 2021, but is run by the original founders as an independent organisation with autonomy, but support available where required.  

The Brixton Brewery Finance Manager will report the Directors, and provide financial leadership that supports top-line growth and management
of costs.

This is an opportunity to be a part of a more entrepreneurial
style of a small-to-medium-sized independently-run business. It means being a key figure in our overall strategic planning while also being willing to get into the operational detail.

It will suit someone who has an entrepreneurial background, someone who has worked in a start-up or someone looking to be part of something different to a corporate finance role.

Key Duties:

Developing an annual and strategic budgetary and forecast planning process

Supporting decisions with financial insight (e.g. pricing & procurement costs)

Producing and understanding Management Accounts

Managing financial systems and processes (e.g. reporting and accounting, payroll, expenses, audit and compliance)

Supporting effective procurement across all aspects of the businessCompliance and risk
management

Mitigation of financial risk

Managerial responsibilities for Finance Assistant

 

Essential skills &
qualifications:

Relevant qualification, ACCA, CIMA or similar

At least 2 years’ experience in similar role

Highly organised

Disciplined at creating and managing processes

Strong analytical skills

Excellent computational skills (especially Excel and accounting software)

Able and willing to operate at both Strategic and Operational levels

Great communication

Great to have:

Experience of working in a brewery or the drinks/hospitality industry

Experience managing a small team

A keen interest in craft beer and beer production

The role:

The role reports into the Managing Director, and is an exciting and challenging new
role to manage the HR strategy at a thriving business. This is a role that would suit someone with a strong background in HR in a small to medium sized
company. It is a great opportunity for who wants to make a real impact on the workplace culture in a dynamic company committed to being a great place to work for a diverse range of people. The role itself will be responsible for shaping
the People infrastructure, as well as being involved in the day to day activities of supporting our people with queries.

 

Essential skills &
qualifications:

- Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist

- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (we use Breathe HR)

- Familiarity with full cycle recruiting and career planning support

- Exellent verbal and written communication skills

- Good problem-solving abilities

- Excellent people management and organisational skills

- Ability to work independely and drive HR leadership

- 5+ years of experience in an HR role

- Legal right to work in the UK

 

Great to have:

- Previous experience working in HR in the hospitality or drinks industry (the role includes responsibility for HR in the BB Taproom)
