Bring Your Nan For A Can

For four days from 29th July - 1st August bring someone over the age of 60 to the taproom for a chat and we'll give you BOTH a FREE can of Generation Pale Ale

When: The ‘Bring A Can For Your Gran’ launch event kicks off a 3pm until late on Thursday 29^th July, then will continue until closing on Sunday 1^st August.

"Oi Nan, fancy a can?" You'd better hope so, because for four days at the end of July if you bring a friend, relative or complete stranger (with their permission of course!) aged 60 or above to our taproom taproom for a chat you'll both receive a FREE can of Generation Pale Ale.

Like the idea, but don't have an older friend to bring along? Don’t fret. Because on Thursday 29^th July, we've teamed up with our partners at Age UK Lambeth to match its friendly members with you. For one-night only they’ll be your one-way ticket to free beer and music, courtesy of over 60’s shape-thrower DJs, Shadow’s Sister, all whilst meeting your new baby boomer BFF.

Can’t make the 29^th July? We'll be keeping our doors open, your seat warm and free beer cold by continuing the offer until Sunday 1^st August. So you have four whole days – approximately 96 hours (excluding when we shut and clean the place) - to pop by and say “HI”.

The feel-good post-lockdown knees-ups are in aid of Age UK Lambeth, which has seen an increase of 233% in demand for its services over the past 12 months. This includes its MYneighbours scheme that pairs elderly members with younger volunteers who regularly call and visit them and bring hot meals, too. 

The organisation estimates that there have been over 10,000 hours’ worth of calls made between these new besties over the past year – around 416 days’ worth of nattering on the phone!

So if you fancy swapping your slippers for stilettoes and meeting the nan-of-your-dreams, make sure you get this in your diary now!

Regardless of when you attend, or how many new older and wiser friends you make, in exchange for a free beer, we are requesting all attendees make a donation, big or small (the bigger the better), to Age UK Lambeth.

The event follows the launch of our limited edition Generation Pale Ale - the first beer purpose-brewed to raise money for Age UK Lambeth and bring people of all (legal drinking) ages back together after lockdown. The beer name and vibrant design, featuring a shopping trolley/boom box for kickass grandmas and granddads, have been officially approved by Age UK Lambeth’s members- and 100% of proceeds from the beer will be donated to the charity.
