Low Voltage Session IPA
£2.50
Low Voltage is one Brixton legend inspired by another. Just like the songs of the famous Starman himself, Low Voltage is packed full of electrifying energy to keep the power on. This easy-drinking dynamo of a beer generates a jolt of flavour from ripe, juicy New World hops – all the spark of an IPA at session strength.

The Low Voltage Story
Low Voltage is the one beer in our core range inspired by person rather than place – none other than the Starman himself, Brixton-born David Bowie.
The bolt we use in the beer design is a reference to his famous make up, and the name is a nod to his seminal album Low, as well as being a riff on our Electric IPA.
Bowie's associations with Brixton are strong - he spent his early years at 40 Stansfield Road, just behind the town centre, and often paid tribute to his home neighbourhood. A mural of him was painted in 2013 on the side of Morley's Department Store (across from Brixton tube station) by Australian artist Jimmy C. When Bowie died in June 2016, it became an impromptu shrine, with flowers and notes accumulating in piles.
The graphic of Bowie shown in the mural is not, contrary to popular belief, from Ziggy Stardust, but is actually his darker alter ego, Aladdin Sane - a lad insane - from the 1973 album of the same name.
